In an unprecedented move, John McCain suspended his campaign to become the next President of the United States as of tomorrow morning. He has called on Barack Obama to do the same, and join him in returning to Washington to work on the economics bill, that he feels will not pass as it currently stands. This is a bold move on McCain’s part, and shows him for the leader he truly is. He could continue, as Obama has done, to focus on his own desire to be President, but instead, he is focused on the needs of this country, and is setting aside his campaign to work for us. How could we expect any more from a President? We need a leader, someone who would put America first, and he is doing just that.
Will Obama set his pride aside and follow John McCain’s lead? Why hasn’t he done the same, if he is the leader they claim he is to be? Why isn’t he working for us? Of course, they will claim they made the first actions to lead, since they don’t want us to see the differences between these two men for what they truly are. They will bash John McCain for taking action, and will try to diminish the significance of this point in history. It is important we see this with clear eyes, and not allow the media, or the Obama campaign, to belittle what this means. John McCain saw the need for this bill to get through Congress, and it is important that it is done properly, without additions from pork-barrel spending the democrats love so much. We can’t afford to waste time, and we need to support those like John McCain who are really working for us.
